Ghanaian forward Kwame Sosu Junior has signed a new contract with Spanish La Liga side Real Betis Balompié, extending his stay at the club until the summer of 2029.
The 20-year-old earned the extension following his impressive performances for the club’s reserve side, Real Betis Cantera.
His previous contract was scheduled to expire in 2028, but the new agreement will keep him at the Spanish outfit for an additional year.
Sosu Junior expressed satisfaction with his development at the club, indicating his desire to continue improving as he works towards securing a place in the senior team.
Despite the contract extension, the former Accra Desideros player will continue to feature for Real Betis Cantera as he pursues his ambition of breaking into the first team.
Last season, the Ghanaian forward made 17 appearances in Group Two of the Primera Federación, scoring two goals for the reserve side.
He has already featured four times this season in Group Four of the Segunda Federación, continuing his development within the Spanish football system.
Before moving to Spain, Sosu Junior was named the best player during the 2024 Division Two Middle League, a recognition that highlighted his potential.
The new contract represents another milestone in the youngster’s career as he seeks to establish himself in Spanish football and eventually earn an opportunity with Real Betis’ senior team.
