Ghana’s U-17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, have expressed confidence ahead of their crucial quarter-final encounter against Japan at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa insisting that his players are mentally prepared for the challenge.
Adarkwa says the team are in the right frame of mind to face the Japanese side as they prepare for what promises to be a demanding encounter in their quest to secure a place in the semi-finals.
The Ghanaian coach believes his players have the necessary mental strength and determination to rise to the occasion, stressing that their preparations have put them in a positive position ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
“Mentally, we are there,” Adarkwa declared, underlining the confidence within the Black Maidens’ camp.
The encounter against Japan represents a significant test for Ghana, who will be hoping to produce a disciplined and determined performance against one of the competition’s formidable sides.
With a place in the last four at stake, the Black Maidens will be counting on their collective strength, tactical discipline and attacking quality to overcome their Asian opponents and keep Ghana’s hopes of winning the global title alive.
