Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed mixed feelings following his side’s Ghana Premier League encounter against Asante Kotoko, admitting that the outcome was painful but insisting that his players deserved credit for securing a point.
The Yellow and Mauves went into the contest hoping to pick up a positive result against the Porcupine Warriors, but the outcome left Tanko disappointed, particularly given his expectations heading into the encounter.
Despite his frustration, the experienced Ghanaian tactician believes there are positives to take from the performance, stressing that collecting a point from such a demanding fixture is still something the team can appreciate.
Tanko acknowledged that although the result was not what Medeama had targeted, his players must remain encouraged by their effort and use the experience as motivation for their subsequent league assignments.
Speaking after the encounter, the Medeama coach said:
“The result was painful, but we can take the one point with pride.”
