Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has insisted that the selection of players for Ghana’s national teams rests solely with the technical teams, particularly the head coaches.
He stressed that the Association has no mandate to interfere in player selection, maintaining that such decisions are the responsibility of the technical handlers.
According to him, the head coaches have the authority to determine which players deserve invitations to represent the country based on their technical assessment.
“Player selection is the responsibility of the technical team, particularly the head coach. It is not within the mandate of the Association,” Mr Okraku stated.
He maintained that the GFA respects the independence of the technical teams in making decisions regarding player selection.
