Ghana Football Association [GFA], has announced that the 2019-20 season been cancelled with immediate effect.
On Tuesday, June 30 2020, the country’s football governing body’s executive council meeting, held to finalise the way forward of the sporting activities in the country after Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo’s refusal to lift the ban placed on contact sports and social distancing since March 16 due to the spread of Coronavirus disease.
During the meeting, the powerful executive council unanimously arrived at a decision to finally annul the season following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
”The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has taken a decision to cancel the 2019/2020 football season following a marathon meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the GFA Secretariat in Accra.”the FA announced in a tweet.
