Abdul-Aziz Nurudeen has fast become the unsung hero of Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak SC since his return from injury.
The midfielder has started in the last four matches for the Phobians and undoubtedly has exhibited his abilities and importance to the success of the Accra-based team.
In the 2022 President’s Cup between the two most glamorous clubs in Ghana on Friday, March 4th, the defensive midfielder produced a masterclass performance against the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League leaders.
In the first half alone, Nurudeen made nine interceptions and was a thorn in the fleshes of the Kotoko midfielders with some tough tackling.
Nurudeen’s ability to hold the ball even in between two or three Kotoko players in the middle of the field allowed the Phobians to push players forward.
His workaholic nature in the team gave his colleagues the chance to play with freedom and surge forward and was everywhere on the field of play.
His inclusion in the team would be a great addition for the team for the remainder of the season after sitting out since last season until this year with horrible injuries.
Nurudeen matched Kotoko players boot-for-boot and an eye-for-eye to help the struggling Phobians beat Kotoko who are flying in the league 2-1 to win their first trophy this campaign.
