Ghanaian international Abdul-Aziz Yakubu put in a stellar display to help Qingdao West Coast secure a valuable away point in a 1-1 draw against Chengdu Rongcheng FC in the Chinese Super League.
The former Rio Ave forward played the full 90 minutes in the Round 13 clash held at Wuliangye Sports Center Stadium on Saturday.
Chengdu Rongcheng took the lead in the 15th minute through Brazil international Felipe Silva, who was assisted by José Pacheco da Silva (Romulo).
Yakubu responded swiftly, equalizing in the 23rd minute to keep Qingdao West Coast in contention. Despite a fiercely contested battle, neither side found a winner, and the match ended level.
Since joining Qingdao West Coast in the January transfer window, the 26-year-old forward has been a key contributor, tallying six goals and five assists in 12 appearances across all competitions.
Yakubu is currently on a season-long loan at Qingdao West Coast and is set to return to his parent club, Shimizu S-Pulse, when his loan expires in December 2025.
