Reading FC head of football operations, Mark Bowen, has revealed that Abdul Baba Rahman is a fan favorite at Reading and the club was eager to bring him back.
The 28-year-old represented the English Championship side in the 2021/22 season where he become one of their best performers.
He has now returned to the club for another loan spell after Chelsea deemed him surplus to requirements.
Speaking to the club’s website, Bowen was excited about the Ghanaian defender’s return.
“Through his energetic, wholehearted and powerful performances on the pitch and his infectious character off it, Baba became something of a fans favourite here at Reading last season. Since the day his loan spell ended in the summer, we have been hoping to bring him back and I am very pleased we have been able to secure his services for the 2022-23 campaign,” he said.
He will team up with fellow Black Stars teammate Andy Yiadom.
