Africa Sports Ventures Group, (ASVG) is a Sports and Entertainment Agency whose aim is to enhance the sports and entertainment sector in Africa.
ASVG has declared Ghanaian Footballer Abdul Fatuwa Issahaku who recently helped Leicester City FC of England to gain promotion back to the English Premier League as the April 2024 African Athlete of the Month.
Abdul Fatuwa Issahaku was selected through a process involving fan nominations and votes on the ASVG WhatsApp Channel, beating the competition from Kenyan athletes Peres Jepchirchir and Emmanuel Wanyonyi.
Issahaku’s incredible performances with Leicester City FC saw him contribute seven goals and thirteen assists in 39 Championship games. In April, the Ghanaian youngster played seven Championship games for Leicester City. He scored an excellent hat trick against Southampton as it was the highlight of the month for him.
The African Athlete of the Month Award celebrates remarkable African athletes, recognizing their achievements and inspiring them to reach greater heights in the global sports arena.
This award involves a public voting poll from the 1st to the 10th of each month, with the winner announced on the 11th based on public votes and internal criteria.
Sprinter Letsile Tebogo of Botswana was named the March 2024 African Athlete of the Month.
