Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has voiced his concerns about the leadership of head coach Aboubakar Ouattara following the club’s poor start to the Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians suffered a 1-0 defeat in their opening match against newly promoted Basake Holy Stars, raising questions about Ouattara’s ability to guide the team to success.
Polo, an iconic figure in the history of Hearts of Oak, is not convinced that Ouattara has the qualities required to lead the club forward. In an interview with Bryt FM, Polo emphasized the importance of setting high goals, particularly at a club as prestigious as Hearts of Oak, and criticized the coach for failing to guarantee a title challenge this season.
“Aboubakar Ouattara cannot help Hearts of Oak because he lacks control and the spirit to lead the club. He nearly took the team to relegation last season. He deserves to be sacked for not being able to promise the Premier League title this season,” Polo remarked.
As Hearts of Oak prepare for their next fixture against Heart of Lions, the pressure on Ouattara to turn things around is intensifying.
