Accra Lions goalkeeper Andrews Owusu has been named the Ghana Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month for April, as announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday, May 20.
Owusu will receive a set of gloves and a customized shirt as his prize.
“Accra Lions shot-stopper Andrews Owusu has won the Ghana Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month for April 2024,” the GFA stated. “Following an outstanding performance that saw his team achieve three victories, three draws, one loss, and three clean sheets while conceding only three goals in five league games in April, Andrews Owusu emerged as the winner of the award. He will receive a set of gloves and a customized shirt from the retired National Goalkeepers Association of Ghana.”
Owusu was chosen for the award over other notable contenders, including Ernest Kussi of Bibiani Gold Stars, Kofi Baah of FC Samartex 1996, and Lawrence Kyei of Kpando Heart of Lions.
