Newly promoted team Accra Lions FC kept their survival hopes alive with a priceless victory over Medeama SC on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions roared to push themselves out of the drop zone with a hard earned narrow 1-0 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium against the Yellow and Mauves.
Medeama were looking to continue with their recent fine form but were stopped by the Ghana Premier League new boys in Accra on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
Abdu Fatawu Hamidu scored the only goal of the match to win all three points for the home team who move from the relegation zone to 12th position on the league table after 16 matches with 19 points.
The Accra-based club will travel to Kumasi to take on Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in their last game of the first round of the 2021-22 season in Ghana’s top-flight league.
