The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the relocation of the venue for the Olympic Games qualifier match between Ghana and Zambia from Kumasi to Accra.
Initially slated to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, February 23, the game will now be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The decision was necessitated by the scheduling conflict arising from three high-profile games being sanctioned to take place at the same venue within a three-day period. Medeama SC and Dreams FC are set to compete in two CAF inter-club matches at the Baba Yara Stadium over the weekend of February 23-25, 2024.
Medeama SC is scheduled to host Al Ahly in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League on Friday, February 23, while Dreams FC will host Club Africain on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
In light of these circumstances, the Black Queens will now host the first leg of the third-round qualifier encounter against Zambia in Accra.
This decision comes after the Black Queens successfully progressed through the previous rounds of the qualifying series by eliminating Guinea and Benin.
The match is set to kick off at 5:00 PM at the Accra Sports Stadium, providing fans with an exciting opportunity to support their national team in their quest for Olympic qualification.
