Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah has noted that the Adako Jachie land, the club’s training ground is not suitable for block structures and hence, he has chosen a container structure instead.
He takes inspiration from Qatar’s 974 stadium which was built with just shipping containers for the 2022 World Cup.
“People were criticizing us for building container structure, when you went to Qatar didn’t you see stadiums built with containers.? Or because it was a white man it’s fine but for your fellow blackman is not,” Nana Yaw Amponsah revealed to Kotoko NCC during their Congress in Takoradi.
“If I tell you the structural thinking that went into the container you will be shocked, because the Adako Jachie land when you put up a building it will sink. Before we act we think deeply into it and we do a lot of stakeholders engagement to get the best interest of the club,” he added.
Kotoko are aiming to win the GPL on back-to-back occasions.
