The Indomitable Lions led by Rigobert Song will fancy their chance to lift their 6th AFCON title as they are the second-best team in the history of the competition.

Cameroon knows how to win the tournament as they exhibited in 2017 against Egypt in the finals when they won 2-0.

Rigobert Song qualified Cameroon for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in the early stages of his Cameroon national team management. Rigobet Song’s side is unpredictable and has always been strong and difficult to play against.

Inform Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has been ruled out of the tournament but Vincent Aboubakar and Karl Tomo Ekambi are expected to bang in the goals for the Indomitable Lions.

Cameroon won (3-0 v Mauritius) and drew (1-1 v Libya) in their opening fixtures for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

In the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, Cameroon’s performance was indifferent as they won 7 points from the possible 12 against Namibia, Burundi and Kenya.

Cameroon has always been one of the favourites since the year 2000 in any AFCON  no matter their form and preparations.

The Core of the Team

Andrea Onana is Cameroon’s number-one goalkeeper with Omar Gonzalez and Christopher Wooh set to play at the back.
