Angola and Zimbabwe played out a 1-1 draw on Friday at the Africa Cup of Nations, with both teams picking up their first point of the tournament. However, the result leaves the two sides facing possible early elimination.

Both teams had lost their opening Group B matches, making the encounter a must-win game. Angola took the lead in the 24th minute when striker Gelson Dala calmly finished at the near post after a well-timed chipped pass from To Carneiro caught the Zimbabwe defence off guard.

Zimbabwe responded late in the first half through experienced forward Knowledge Musona, who equalised with the final kick before the break to restore hope for his side.

Despite efforts from both teams in the second half, neither could find a winning goal. The draw means Angola and Zimbabwe must now win their final group matches next week if they are to keep their hopes of progressing in the competition alive.
