Egypt coach Hossam Hassan expressed satisfaction after a goalless draw against Angola in the final round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group stage on Monday.
The 59-year-old tactician promised that the team’s performance will improve in the knockout stages of the tournament.
“I am satisfied with the team’s performance during the three games in the group stage, and I promise the supporters that we will improve in the coming matches as well,” Hassan said in a television interview after the game.

Hassan had made sweeping changes to his lineup, introducing Khaled Sobhi, Ahmed Eid, and Mohamed Ismail, Salah Mohsen, Ibrahim Adel, and Mahmoud Saber.
“I am confident in all 28 players in the squad. It was normal to give new faces a chance to participate in the tournament, while also giving other players some rest,” he added.
Egypt had already secured a place in the round of 16 after back-to-back wins over Zimbabwe (2-1) and South Africa (1-0).
They top Group B with seven points, one ahead of second-placed South Africa, who defeated Zimbabwe 3-2 on Monday.
The Pharaohs will begin their round of 16 campaign on Monday against one of the best third-placed teams from the other groups.
