AFCON 2025: Head coach Brama Traore names Burkina Faso 25-man squad for tournament

With less than two weeks for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Burkina Faso’s head coach, Brama Traoré, has announced his final squad for the tournament in Morocco.

The squad is headlined by Angers’ goalkeeper Koffi Kouakou Herve.

In defence, veteran centre back Dayo Issoufou of Um Salal, alongside Edmund Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen, Issa Kabore of Wrexham, and Djiga Yacouba Nasser of Rangers, are all part of the squad.

In midfield, Pyramids’ Blati Toure, Ki Aziz of WAC of Morocco, Fabrice Sangare of Noah and OB Odense’s Ouedraogo Ismahila are included.

Sunderland’s Bertrand Traore and Dango Ouattara of Brentford headline the team’s attack

Hervé Koffi (Angers), Kilian Nikiema (ADO Den Haag), Sofiane Farid Ouédraogo (Al Hilal SC)

Defenders:

Nasser Yacouba Djiga (Rangers), Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen), Issoufou Dayo (Umm Salal), Adamo Nagalo (PSV Eindhoven), Steeve Yago (Aris Limassol), Issa Kaboré (Wrexham), Arsène Kouassi (Lorient), Abdoul Rachid Ayindé (Gent)

Midfielders:

Ibrahim Blati Touré (Pyramids), Cédric Badolo (Spartak Trnava), Saïdou Simporé (National Bank), Mohamed Zougrana (MC Alger), Gustavo Sangaré (Noah), Stéphane Aziz Ki (Wydad Casablanca), Ismahila Ouédraogo (OB Odense)

Forwards:


Bertrand Traoré (Sunderland), Dango Ouattara (Brentford), Ousseni Bouda (San Jose Earthquakes), Pierre Landry Kaboré (Hearts), Georgi Minoungou (Seattle Sounders), Cyriaque Iré (Freiburg), Lassina Traoré (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Burkina Faso in Group E will meet Equatorial Guinea, Algeria and Sudan in the AFCON 2025.
