Moldovan giant FC Sheriff Tiraspol left-back, Patrick Kpozo has been given his first ever Ghana start against Madagascar on Sunday in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.
He received his first senior call-up in March when Ghana faced Angola in a home and away tie in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers but didn’t get the chance to shine.
In the absence of Baba Rahman and Gideon Mensah, Kpozo has been called to duty as he starts on his debut for the Black Stars who are looking for a win against the minnows, Barea of Madagascar.
Gideon who was handed an invitation for the game reported to camp but had to be excused due to an injury he is nursing.
The defender has been given a chance to justify himself against Barea in a game that Ghana needs a win to secure qualification to the 2023 AFCON with a game to spare.
The game will kick off at 2pm.Ghana will play at the next total energies Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast next year January with a win over Madagascar on Sunday.
