Ahead of the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria on Friday, the Ghana U-23 national team has arrived safely in Annaba.
The Black Meteors left Kotoka International Airport for Algeria on Wednesday evening, with the first leg scheduled to take place at 19 May 1956 Stadium in Annaba.
Despite reportedly rejecting an invitation to play for the U23 team, Felix Afena-Gyan has been included in the squad list. The team trained on Wednesday morning to ensure they are well prepared for the game.
Ghana aims to advance to the U23 Championship for the second year in a row and compete for a spot in the next Olympic Games in Paris.
Victory in the two-legged tie will secure Ghana’s place in the tournament, which will take place from June 24 to July 8, 2023.
