The Elections to the Ivorian Football Federation will take place on Saturday April 23, 2022 from 10 a.m. at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation for Peace Research and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba could follow the steps of Samuel Eto’o who became President of the Cameroon Football Federation last year.
81 members will have to vote to elect the new President of the football governing body of the West African country as well as the President, the Vice-President and the members of the Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee.
Drogba and Eto’o were two leading African strikers in the world during the peak of their career.
Eto’o – legend of FC Barcelona and Inter Milan – scored 56 goals for the Indomitable Lions and won two Africa Cup of Nations titles whilst Chelsea great Drogba did 65 goals for his national team.
In the race are vice-president of the federation Sory Diabate and Yacine Diallo.
