Senegal national team skipper Kalidou Koulibaly was full of joy after successfully beating Egypt to the 2022 World Cup spot.
The Lions of Teranga booked their 2022 World Cup spot by eliminating Egypt in a penalty shootout.
Despite missing the first two penalties executed by Kalidou Koulibaly and Saliou Ciss, Senegal successfully came out on top with a result of 3-1.
The Senegalese national team will be playing in the World Cup for the third time in their history after participating in the 2002 and 2018 editions.
Skipper Kalidou Koulibaly made a few comments after the game, expressing happiness for the hard-earned qualification.
“We are definitely happy, we proved that Senegal national team is a big team and we deserved to advance to the World Cup,” Koulibaly said.
“We scored early and we could have scored more goals, I am happy and I really want to play in the World Cup.
“The penalty shootout was not easy, I tried to score but what matters is that we won in the end.
“We have the best goalkeeper in the world. I am sorry for the Egyptian national team but we deserved to qualify.”
