African Games: Akufo-Addo congratulates Ghana’s contingent for their enormous performance and dedication

President Akufo-Addo delivered a heartwarming message to Ghana’s contingent at the 13th African Games, held in Accra in 2023. Ghana’s performance saw them secure a commendable sixth place on the medal table.

In his message, the President extended warm congratulations to the Ghanaian team for their remarkable achievements at the Games. He highlighted the impressive medal tally of sixty-eight medals, including nineteen gold, twenty-nine silver, and twenty bronze, which marked the largest haul in the nation’s history at the prestigious event.

Addressing the athletes, President Akufo-Addo commended them for their dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence. He praised their outstanding achievements, noting that they had not only brought glory to the nation but had also inspired a new generation of sports enthusiasts across Ghana.

The President expressed gratitude to the coaches, officials, and support staff who had played pivotal roles in preparing and guiding the athletes throughout their journey. He acknowledged their tireless efforts, which had been instrumental in shaping Ghana’s historic triumph at the Games.

President Akufo-Addo thanked the people of Ghana for their belief in the government’s ability to host the Games for the first time in the nation’s history. He appreciated their resilience in the face of doubts and opposition, emphasizing the importance of investing further in sports development to empower the youth and propel Ghana to greater heights on the international stage.

Reflecting on the success of the Games, the President underscored the significance of promoting sports as a tool for national development and unity. He called for collective efforts to harness the power of sports in building a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Ghana for future generations.

President Akufo-Addo reiterated his congratulations to all members of the Ghanaian contingent, recognizing their prideful accomplishments and highlighting their legacy as a source of inspiration for countless others.
