Ghana’s U-15 female national team, the Black Damsels, kicked off their campaign at the CAF African Schools Championship in emphatic fashion, hammering Guinea 6-0 in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The defending champions delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, with Mavis Koah stealing the spotlight with a brilliant brace to inspire the rout.
Ghana wasted no time asserting their dominance, as Belinda Kpentey opened the scoring just six minutes into the contest. Moments later, Jennifer Awuku doubled the lead to give the Black Damsels early control.
Koah then got on the scoresheet in the 19th minute, before Margaret Tawiah added a fourth just three minutes later, effectively putting the game beyond Guinea before the half-hour mark.
The attacking onslaught continued as Koah grabbed her second goal on the half-hour, underlining Ghana’s superiority. Janet Eyram then completed the emphatic victory five minutes later, capping a ruthless display by the West Africans.
With a perfect start secured, the Black Damsels now turn their attention to their next fixture against Tanzania later on Monday as they continue their quest to successfully defend their continental crown.
