Egyptian coach Ahmed Fathi has announced his decision to step away from his role as head coach of Swedru All Blacks, citing personal reasons, although the club is yet to formally comment on the development.

Fathi made the revelation in a social media post on Saturday, addressing supporters of the Swedru-based side and expressing gratitude for the backing he received during his time in charge of the Black Magicians.

“Dear Swedru All Blacks fans, thank you for your support. I have decided not to continue for personal reasons, with full respect to the club and everyone who works in it. I wish the club continued success,” Fathi wrote.

Coach Apologises to Fans

In an earlier part of the message, the Egyptian trainer also apologised to the club’s supporters, explaining that he was unable to fully complete the task entrusted to him. He stressed that the decision was taken out of respect for the club’s leadership and structure, rather than any dispute.

Club Yet to Confirm Exit

As of the time of filing this report, Swedru All Blacks have not released an official statement confirming Fathi’s resignation or outlining the club’s position, fueling speculation among fans about the circumstances surrounding his departure.

The silence is particularly notable given the team’s recent resurgence in form in the ongoing campaign.

Exit Comes Amid Improved Results

All Blacks have recorded encouraging results in recent weeks, including a high-profile victory over Asante Kotoko, a result that helped the club move clear of the relegation zone and restored belief within the squad.

Fathi’s sudden announcement now raises questions about the club’s technical direction as the season progresses, with supporters eagerly awaiting clarity from management on whether an interim coach will be appointed or a permanent replacement sought.
