Ajax head coach John Heitinga has confirmed Mohammed Kudus could be back in action for the club this weekend after recovering fully from a muscle injury.
After missing the club’s previous two games due to a hamstring injury, the Ghanaian only recently started exercising again last week but was absent for the Dutch Cup final defeat to PSV.
The 22-year-old was forced to sit out the past two Eredivisie games against Emmen and PSV after being substituted in the semi-final victory over Feyenoord earlier this month.
But Heitinga says the player is ready to be called upon over the weekend as they still chase a Champions League spot.
“For Kudus, the final came too early but he did participate in all the training sessions with the group afterwards and is available again,” he said at the press conference.
Ajax face AZ Alkmaar, who are fourth on the league table, on Saturday night.
