Algerian club MC Alger and Ghanaian forward Joseph Esso have mutually agreed to part ways after a tenure spanning nearly three seasons.
The announcement came from the Algiers-based club on Monday, revealing that they had come to a consensus with the 26-year-old player to terminate his contract through mutual understanding.
In March 2021, Esso made the transition from Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC to the Algerian top-flight team.
During the latter half of the 2020-21 season, the former Hearts of Oak player made an immediate impact for Mouloudia club, amassing 7 goals and contributing three assists in 18 appearances.
In the subsequent season, Esso achieved three goals and one assist across 33 matches in the Algerian Ligue 1.
In the recent season, his playing time was limited, participating in 14 matches, securing a goal, and providing one assist.
Joseph Esso’s notable contributions extended to the Ghanaian national team, particularly during the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal, where he garnered recognition by being included in the tournament’s best eleven.
