Former Asante Kotoko management member Ali Maradona has expressed doubts about Hearts of Oak goalkeeper and captain Benjamin Asare, saying he is not fit to be Ghana’s number one goalkeeper ahead of the World Cup.

Speaking on Asempa Sports this morning, Maradona questioned Asare’s form and readiness to take on the responsibility at the international level, suggesting that the Black Stars may need to consider alternatives for the upcoming tournament.

The comments add to ongoing debates about squad selection and preparations as Ghana looks to finalize its roster for the World Cup.

Former Asante Kotoko management member Ali Maradona on Asempa Sports this morning said Hearts of Oak “Goalkeeper and Captain Benjamin Asare is not fit to be the Black Stars’ number one goalkeeper going into world cup.”
