During Ghana’s match against Ethiopia in the African Games women’s football tournament at the Cape Coast stadium on Saturday, there were two power outages that caused a lot of talk.
Despite the interruptions, the Black Princesses won 1-0, which was a good start for them in the tournament.
The first power outage happened in the 36th minute of the game. After about 20 minutes, the power came back, but then it went off again just before halftime.
Because of this, the first half ended earlier than expected, with only a few minutes left to play.
Luckily, things got better in the second half, and Ghana scored a goal in the 59th minute, thanks to Jacqueline Owusu. Even though Ghana had one player sent off in the 79th minute, they still kept their lead.
Next, Ghana will play against Tanzania before finishing their group stage matches against Uganda.
The power outages during the game have made authorities want to find out why they happened.
Since the game was on TV, the interruptions made the country and its infrastructure look bad.
