There is a possibility that Jérémy Doku could leave Rennes for a bigger club this summer, which could prove beneficial for RSC Anderlecht.
When Doku left Anderlecht previously, Peter Verbeke negotiated a 15 percent resale percentage.
Manchester City is actively looking for a right-winger to fill the void left by Riyad Mahrez’s move to Saudi Arabia. Mahrez was a crucial player off the bench and scored several important goals for the club in recent years. With his departure, Guardiola needs a new difference-maker who can come in and make an impact.
Doku, primarily a right-winger, also has the ability to play on the other flank. He is a skilled dribbler and finisher, excelling in the final third and regularly finding the back of the net. However, he may need improvement in aerial abilities and defensive contributions, which, given his age, can be developed for him to thrive at The Etihad.
Despite his young age, Doku is already fairly experienced, having made 90 appearances for Rennes, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions. Signing him would not only future-proof the right-wing position for the Premier League champions but also add another dynamic attacker who can be built up for the long term.
It’s worth noting that Michael Olise from Crystal Palace is also being monitored as another attacking option for Manchester City. The final month of the summer transfer window at The Etihad promises to be intriguing as they continue their search for reinforcements.
