On Friday night, Andre Ayew, the captain of Ghana, made his first start for Nottingham Forest in their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.
The seasoned forward joined Forest during the January transfer window, having previously played for Al-Sadd SC in Qatar. Despite being with the club for some time, Ayew had only featured as a substitute until this game.
He began the Round 28 English Premier League fixture playing in attack for Nottingham Forest, who were aiming to secure a home victory over Newcastle United.
After a solid defensive performance by Forest, Emmanuel Dennis scored in the 26th minute to put them ahead. However, the team failed to hold onto the lead and conceded a goal from Alexander Isak to level the score just before half-time.
Newcastle then scored a second goal from a penalty kick in injury time of the second half to secure all three points.
Ayew played for 79 minutes before being replaced by Sam Surridge.
