Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew has reacted to criticism of his brother’s performances during the ongoing FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Jordan Ayew faced criticism during his 13-minute cameo in the 3-2 loss to Portugal last Thursday. He lost possession three times during his time on the pitch and was faulted for his role in Portugal’s third goal.
However, his elder brother has been speaking about his qualities after he starred in Ghana’s 3-2 win over South Korea today.
Jordan put in the most crosses – six – one of which resulted in Ghana’s second goal scored by Mohammed Kudus.
His set-piece also resulted in the opener scored by Salisu Mohammed and he had a hand in the build-up to Kudus’ second goal.
The Crystal Palace forward came off to a standing ovation by Ghanaian fans at the Education City Stadium in Qatar.
Speaking about his brother’s performance, Ayew said his brother’s qualities as a footballer were not in doubt.
“It’s not the first time (that Jordan has played well)… I think he’s just someone that people just want to speak bad about but they in their hearts know the kind of quality that he is…”.
