Black Galaxies manager, Annor Walker, has opened up on why he wasn’t included in the four local coaches co-opted to the Black Stars technical team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
According to Walker who currently is the Head coach of Samartex FC, he declined the FA’s call to be added to the list just to enable him concentrate on the BLack Galaxies preparations for the 2023 CHAN Championship.
The Ghana Football Association, on Friday, announced a 21-man technical team who will work with the Black Stars team during the global showpiece in Qatar.
The list included four home-based coaches, namely Ibrahim Tanko, Prosper Ogum Narteh, Samuel Boadu and Ignatius Osei- Fosu of Dreams FC.
“I was invited by GFA to be part of the 4 coaches going to World Cup but I declined because from 20th when World Cup starts I will be busy in camp with Black Galaxies preparing for the Algeria CHAN tournament scheduled to take place in January 2023,” He said on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.
“I will even travel outside Ghana within that period as well so we both agreed I can’t be part due to my national team engagement.” Walker concluded.
Ghana will face Portugal in their first group game on November 24.
