Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has capped off a remarkable start to the season by winning AFC Bournemouth’s Goal of the Month award for August, adding to his earlier Player of the Month accolade.
The 25-year-old secured the honour after his stunning solo strike against Liverpool topped the fans’ vote. The goal, scored in style after a driving run from deep inside his own half before slotting past Alisson, edged out other contenders to claim the prize.
Semenyo’s strike was also shortlisted for the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award but narrowly lost out to Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Ghana international has been in red-hot form for the Cherries this season, registering three goals and two assists in just four Premier League outings. His electric performances have already earned him two Team of the Week selections, placing him firmly in the conversation for a potential Team of the Season spot.
Bournemouth, buoyed by Semenyo’s blistering form, are now turning their attention to their upcoming clash against Newcastle United on Sunday.
