Antoine Semenyo and the Black Stars took to the pitch on Friday night with a clear goal—score as many goals as possible against Chad.

The Bournemouth striker set the tone early, igniting a commanding 5-0 victory in Ghana’s fifth Group I match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Fans erupted in celebration as the goals poured in, and Semenyo was pleased with the team’s performance.

“We wanted to win this game and give us a good start for the qualifiers. We wanted to score as many goals as possible because it helps with the goal difference in the group. We have done well today. It was a good team performance today,” he said after the match.

Semenyo wasted no time getting Ghana on the scoresheet, striking just two minutes into the game. Inaki Williams doubled the lead in the 31st minute before Jordan Ayew converted a penalty in the 36th. The second half saw Mohammed Salisu extend the lead in the 56th minute with a powerful header, while Ernest Nuamah sealed the win in the 68th minute.

With this emphatic victory, Ghana now looks ahead to their next challenge against Madagascar on March 24th, aiming to continue their winning momentum.
