Former Arsenal forward, Ian Wright, has heaped praise on Eddie Nketiah for filling in the void left by Gabriel Jesus following his brace against Oxford United in the FA Cup.
The forward scored twice as Mikel Arteta’s side booked a place in the next round of the competition with Arsenal recording a 3-0 win.
The brace was the 23-year-old’s fourth in four games since the season resumed after the World Cup break and Wright is delighted Nketiah has done enough to ensure Arsenal don’t miss Jesus.
“They’ve got faith in him, its sad to be without Gabriel Jesus but we know what Eddie is capable of,” he said after the game against Oxford United.
” He’ll feel better going into the next game.”
Nketiah now has seven goals for the season, and after setting the record for most goals scored by an England U21 player two years ago, there is a sense that he may be fulfilling his potential.
