Arsenal U19 coach, Mehmet Ali has lauded English-born Ghanaian forward, Charles Sagoe Jr, after his his brilliant performance in the UEFA Youth League game against Sevilla.
Sagoe Jr scored as Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat on the road.
Alberto Collado and Jose Antonio Lopez gave the Spanish outfit a two-goal advantage in the first-half before Sagoe Jr scored the consolation late in the second-half.
“Charles is very level-headed and he’s desperate to improve and get better. He continues to work hard in training,” said Ali after the game.
“Of course, playing with the first team has given him a real confidence boost, but he’s kept his head and continues to work hard and I was really pleased that he got his reward with a goal.”
The young forward tasted first team football this season after featuring in the Carabao Cup game between Arsenal and Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium.
He is expected to enjoy more senior team football in the ongoing campaign.
