Black Stars legend Asamoah Gyan has stated that he didn’t join Manchester City in 2008 because he was committed to the national team.
The 37-year-old was linked to the Cityzens in 2008 but ultimately didn’t join them.
He played for the national team during the Africa Cup of Nations.
“I always claim to be very patriotic.” Manchester City had just been purchased by Sheik Mansour at the time, and they wanted to sign me, but I was committed to the national team. I preferred the national team over everything else. That is why some things bother me.
“People didn’t get it.” “But I’m sure they’ll understand why things turned out that way after this interview,” Asamoah Gyan told Dan Kwaku Yeboah.
Gyan has scored 51 goals in a Black Stars jersey.
