Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has set his sights on winning the FA Cup, a trophy that has remained out of his grasp throughout his coaching career.
The Porcupine Warriors will take on lower-tier side True Democracy in the quarterfinals on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
Speaking ahead of the crucial fixture, Narteh Ogum underscored his determination to secure the prestigious title, acknowledging its significance in his career.
“This competition is a very important one for me. I’ve never won it before coaching other Premier teams like Dwarfs, WAFA, even the first time I came to Kotoko and we won the league, we couldn’t make it beyond the first round, so it’s very dear to my heart,” he stated.
Having already claimed a league title in the past, the FA Cup remains the missing piece in his domestic achievements.
“I’ve been able to coach to win the league before but the FA Cup I’ve not been able to do that, so it’s a motivation for me,” he added.
With the quarterfinal showdown fast approaching, Narteh Ogum and his team will be eager to take a significant step closer to lifting the coveted trophy.
