Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, is optimistic about his team’s chances in the upcoming Super Clash against their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak. The highly anticipated match, scheduled for Sunday, December 15, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, will be the first encounter between the two teams in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Kotoko heads into the match with renewed confidence following a crucial victory over Aduana Stars on matchday 12.
Speaking about his team’s preparations, Coach Ogum highlighted the boost in morale brought about by their recent success.
“This win [against Aduana Stars] has brought some self-belief into the players. They now believe that they can do it. They now believe it is doable. It is something that can be done, so going into our next game [against Hearts of Oak] we are going with a lot of confidence,” Ogum stated.
The Kotoko coach also expressed confidence that the positive energy within the team would reflect in their training sessions.
“I’m sure there will be a lot of smiles at training, there will be a lot of joy at training, and people will be ready to work harder. The key thing for our next game is that players will be more confident and believe in themselves that everything is doable and we can do it,” he added.
Both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are eagerly preparing for what promises to be an exciting and hard-fought encounter this Sunday.
