Ahead of their Ghana Premier League match on Wednesday, April 2, Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has lauded Berekum Chelsea striker Stephen Amankonah.
Ogum praised Amankonah’s performance in the FA Cup quarterfinals, remarking that his goal was “one of the best goals you can describe as a textbook goal.” He also took a moment to acknowledge the prowess of Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu, a decorated leader with two FA Cup wins and a Ghana Premier League title to his name.
Reflecting on the overall strength of the opposing team, Ogum noted, “They have good players; you have Stephen Amankonah… They have quality on the field and they have quality on the bench, so it’s going to make the game very interesting.” This exciting league encounter is also seen as a precursor to the MTN FA Cup semifinal scheduled for May.
Currently, Kotoko lead the Ghana Premier League standings with 42 points, while Berekum Chelsea hold the ninth spot with 32 points.
