The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has granted approval to Asante Kotoko to travel to South Africa for an international friendly encounter against South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs.
The high-profile fixture is set to take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. It will form part of this year’s Toyota Cup event and serves as an important build-up ahead of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, where both teams will be flying their respective national flags.
Asante Kotoko, who are in fine form following a strong finish to their domestic season, will go into the game full of confidence. The Porcupine Warriors recently lifted the 2025 President’s Cup after defeating bitter rivals Hearts of Oak, adding to their FA Cup glory in what has been a successful campaign.
In a statement confirming the trip, the GFA assured its full support for Kotoko’s participation in the friendly and extended best wishes to the team for a productive outing in South Africa.
