The interim management committee of Asante Kotoko has engaged in discussions with five of its sponsors regarding the extension of their contracts.
The IMC has conducted meetings with Zeepay, Betika, Hisense, GOIL to assess and renew sponsorship agreements in anticipation of the upcoming 2023/24 league season.
Representing Asante Kotoko during these discussions were Kontomponiaferehene, who serves as the Chairman of the IMC, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, and Sporting Director James Kwesi Appiah.
In the meantime, Asante Kotoko is on the verge of finalizing a substantial partnership with mining company Newmont Ghana as their headline sponsor.
According to sources, negotiations between the two entities have reached an advanced stage, awaiting official confirmation.
As Sportsworldghana.com exclusively reported earlier, discussions between Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Newmont Ghana are spearheading the sponsorship deal, although specific financial details have yet to be disclosed.
This development is part of Asante Kotoko’s transformative phase following the departure of the previous board, led by accomplished entrepreneur Dr. Kwame Kyei.
