Asante Kotoko is on the brink of securing the services of former Ashantigold SC striker, Julius Ofori, in the ongoing transfer window.
Ofori, aged 24, has left a significant impression on the technical team, led by Prosper Ogum, following a two-week trial period during the club’s pre-season training sessions in Beposo.
Born in August 1999 in Kumasi, Ofori participated in the club’s friendly match against lower-tier side Future Stars last Sunday in Ejisu, where he garnered attention with his performance.
The club has now made the decision to extend a three-year contract offer to the striker, and discussions are already in advanced stages. The deal is expected to be finalized before the closure of the local transfer window on Friday.
Previously, Ofori played for the Ghana Premier League team AshantiGold SC starting from September 2020. He was part of the AshantiGold squad that competed in the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup, making an appearance against Moroccan side RS Berkane.
In addition to his time in Ghana, Ofori has previously featured for Belarusian side Energetik-BGU Minsk and, most recently, for Kelantan United in Malaysia.
