Asante Kotoko midfielder Hubert Gyau has reaffirmed the team’s determination to win the highly anticipated Kotoko–Hearts derby, emphasizing the importance of the fixture to the club’s supporters.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Matchday 22 clash against Accra Hearts of Oak, Gyau stated in an interview with Oyerepa FM.
“We know how much the Kotoko–Hearts derby means to our fans. We’ve prepared well, and we’ll do everything possible to secure the win for them.”
Currently among the top contenders in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, Kotoko see the encounter as a pivotal opportunity to maintain momentum in their title race. Despite trailing league leaders Medeama SC by eight points, Gyau, a standout performer this season, remains optimistic about the club’s chances of lifting the trophy.
The Porcupine Warriors will host their arch-rivals in a crunch fixture that could play a decisive role in shaping the final stretch of the league campaign. Fans will be hoping Kotoko can deliver a performance worthy of their passionate support.
