Expressing his utmost determination, Asante Kotoko forward Steven Mukwala has underscored his primary focus of aiding Kumasi Asante Kotoko in clinching the 2023/24 betPawa Ghana Premier League title.

The Ugandan International has affirmed his readiness to contribute significantly to the club’s quest for domestic league triumph, aiming to enhance their performance from the preceding season.

Having concluded the previous season as a fourth-place team, falling short of claiming the coveted league title, Mukwala is resolute in his pursuit of success. The championship was ultimately secured by Medeama SC.

Guided by the leadership of coach Prosper Ogum Nartey, whose return has been marked by a sense of excellence, Mukwala firmly believes in the gaffer’s prowess to propel the team towards accomplishment, particularly aiding him in achieving his personal objectives for the forthcoming season.

Furthermore, Mukwala has set his sights on becoming the leading scorer in the Ghana Premier League competition.

He articulated, “That is my first priority this season, my main target is winning the league and still fight for the top scorer. With the character of the coach and love for the club this season we will go far. The season will be super amazing for all the porcupine fans and family,” he said as conveyed through his conversation with Asante Kotoko TV.

When questioned about a specific goal tally he aims to achieve, Mukwala refrained from providing a definite figure. However, he quickly emphasized his determination to surpass his accomplishments from the 2022/23 campaign, where he netted 11 goals.

“Basically, I won’t point out any figure but what I believe I will do better than I did last season I improve on myself and everything so to ensure that this season becomes a better for and Kotoko,” Mukwala added.

Having been the leading goal scorer for Kotoko in the previous season, netting a total of 11 goals, Mukwala has already showcased his vital role within the team.

As the new season beckons, Asante Kotoko is poised to embark on their title pursuit, commencing with a match against Hearts of Lion at the iconic Baba Yara Stadium in September.
