Ghanaian-born Portuguese forward Asumah Abubakar-Ankra delivered a decisive performance for SC Austria Lustenau, scoring the winning goal in their narrow 1–0 victory over SK Sturm Graz II in the Austrian 2. Liga.

The 28-year-old centre-forward played 57 minutes in the encounter and made his presence count by finding the back of the net to secure all three points for his side. His crucial strike proved to be the difference in a tightly contested match, giving Austria Lustenau an important win in their league campaign.

Abubakar-Ankra showed sharp attacking instincts and composure in front of goal, capitalising on his opportunity to break the deadlock. The striker’s movement and positioning inside the penalty area allowed him to take advantage of the chance and convert calmly, ensuring his side maintained their lead until the final whistle.

The goal marked an important moment for the Ghanaian-born forward, who is gradually building momentum this season. The match also represented his third appearance of the campaign, making the goal even more significant as he continues to work his way into the team’s attacking setup.

Born in Ghana but raised in Portugal, Abubakar-Ankra holds Portuguese citizenship and once represented Portugal national under-19 football team at youth level in 2016. His dual heritage has shaped his football journey, with the striker developing much of his career in Europe.

Over the years, the experienced forward has built a reputation as a hardworking attacker known for his physical presence, intelligent movement, and ability to convert chances in key moments. His latest goal for Austria Lustenau once again demonstrated his value as a reliable option in the final third.
