Former Ghana international, Augustine Ahinful, has raised concerns over the excessive number of management committees overseeing the country’s national teams, arguing that the system is hampering the growth of Ghanaian football.
Currently, each national team has its own management committee, but Ahinful believes this structure is inefficient and needs to be replaced with a more streamlined and accountable approach.
Speaking to Happy FM, he urged authorities to rethink the existing system and introduce a better framework.
“Instead of having separate management teams for all the national teams, I think we need to move away from that approach. It’s high time we established a proper structure so that, for example, when the U-20 team is playing, two or three people can be appointed to oversee it,” he said.
He also criticized how membership in these committees often prevents individuals from holding the Ghana Football Association (GFA) accountable.
“It’s as if no one can speak up. If the FA is doing something wrong, they remain silent because they want to stay on the management team,” he added.
