The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi will host Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar.
The Black Stars in November 2023 will host Madagascar in Ghana before traveling to Comoros for their opening two games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
With some Ghanaians expecting the Black Stars in their backyard, it has emerged that Kumasi will once again host the team.
“Our journey in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will commence with a match against Madagascar, it will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The game is set to kick off on November 17, 2023,” the GFA announced.
Also, this comes after CAF rejected the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as a venue for Medeama’s games in the group stages of the Champions League.
The Accra Sports Stadium does not also meet the CAF standard currently meaning the Baba Yara Sports Stadium is the only venue in Ghana that can host the World Cup qualifiers.
