Bechem United ace winger, Augustine Okrah has vowed to expose teammates or any footballer he sees engaging in football betting.
The Ghana Premier League, for some time now has been engulfed with betting scandals and allegations in with last season’s case between relegated Inter Allies and AshantiGold yet to be ruled upon by the Ghana FA.
Controversial score lines this season have attracted betting suspicions but Okrah is yet to find any of his teammates engaged in the act which he promises to expose if he comes across any.
“Before God and man, I have not seen any player engaged in betting.
“If I see any player engaged in betting, I will report that fellow.
“As a player, you need to focus on your career because you are being paid for it.
“Anything can happen because you don’t know who is watching you.
“If you play well, bigger opportunities will come for you to make a good move and everyone will wish you good luck.
“I can confidently say that the minds of our players are not focused on betting but rather playing the game.” Augustine Okrah said in a post match press conference.
Bechem United, who lie second on the table, have not lost at home this season but they failed to close the gap on Kotoko
after a 1-1 home draw against Karela United on Monday.
The Hunters have 45 points from 26 games – seven points behind leaders and record holders, Asante Kotoko.
